End of Trip

January 4th, 2007 Shree

Just a quick update - we are back in Bangalore. And that means back to work :-(

After Imphal, we covered a bit of Nagaland and quite some parts of Arunachal Pradesh.  We didn’t get to travel much in Assam, since we were busy transporting our cycles across Assam most of the time ;-) Crossing the umpteen tributaries of the Brahmaputra was a tiring experience.  As a last highlight of the tour, we went to Tawang, but on a Sumo.  The places around Tawang experience considerable snowfall and crossing the Sela Pass(4000+ meters above sea level) would have been a nightmare on a cycle. I can sense that I am writing a lot of mumbo-jumbo at this point, so I will defer the update on the story for a while later.

This trip had the smallest number of updates by me - exactly one during the tour.  We have accumulated a lot of content, and I am optimistic that I will have most of it online by monday.

Meanwhile, Happy New Year 2007!

Hello everybody…after a while i just happened to peep into this blog..little disappointed to see no new updates for several months now….still, i havent read about the NE trip all this while..just had a chance to browse through the pics..and man…its really amazing. I love that off road ride than the rest. the river crossing and the boat ride, i just love that man.
Now, i have few questions now… I na its too late…but its not gonna be a problem for u guys cos the answers are always the same.
1)U guys bought a new bikes for the trip?? we had bitter experiances picking a new bike just before the trip. Though we check for all the parts to be intact, it just happens that it is NOT comfortable at all. And ‘m very very particular about comfort. and when it comes to details like saddle hight and angle it takes atleast a weeks time fomme to set it up the right way. Else, after peddeling for about 40kms, it gives a slight numbness in the nape and probably in next 50kms it’ll lead to a lower back ache..adn i just hate that man…esspecially during the trip. So, the bottom line is, like a new shoe that is not fit for a trekking trip, no matter how expensive that is, a new bike is NOT ready for a trip.
2)Can i have some info about the GPS usage for this trip. “m not sure if it is really necessary for this trip..plz clarify.
