In Imphal!

Posting this in a hurry before either the power goes off or the internet connection goes for a six :-)

Quick summary : we started off from Agartala last Monday(11th). After cycling for a week, we reached Imphal yesterday.

The last three days were particularly good in terms of riding : greenery, bad roads, climbing, and offbeat staying places. The CRPF, Assam Rifles and Local Police cover most of the roads in Manipur and Tripura, so we didn’t have any security scares. We did quite a bit of talking with the local folks as well. Needless to stay, we enjoyed every bit of it…

We have had our share of problems with KP’s cycles too, the nastiest being a loose crank. We got it repaired today, but not before involving half of Imphal’s cycle mechanics ;-) . We dearly thank the owner of Konica Cycle Shop, Imphal for all his help.

Now, now, before you ask me, “where are the stories and pictures ?” : I freely blame the internet connectivity. Or should I blame the power ? Anyway, I am trying to upload as much as I can…

So what next? We are proceeding onto Nagaland(got Inner Line Permit today), Assam and Arunachal. We have dropped all plans of Bhutan till the time we change them :-)

    Hey guys,

    A very interesting trip… I’ve always enjoyed cycling, but the max I’ve cycled is from Mahabaleshwar to Panchgani (18 kms) and back.. And I thought that was back breakin… :D

    Anyways, enjoy the adventure..
